Azerbaijani President speaks with his Bulgarian counterpart via videoconference

The President of the Republic Ilham Aliyev spoke on March 11, by videoconference, with the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev.

The reason for organizing the meeting via videoconference is the positive test result for COVID-19 among the members of the Bulgarian delegation.

Issues related to cooperation in energy, transportation, natural gas supply, agriculture and other areas were discussed during the meeting.

Azerbaijan’s contribution to Europe’s energy security was highlighted and the issue of building a new gas connector in Europe was discussed. The importance of the 1st Ministerial Meeting of the Green Energy Advisory Council held last month in Baku was underlined, and it was mentioned that Azerbaijan has become an important green energy supplier country to Europe.

During the conversation, the parties exchanged on the increase in the volume of transit cargo from Bulgaria to the countries of Central Asia via Azerbaijan.

Rumen Radev invited the President of Azerbaijan for an official visit to his country. The invitation was gratefully accepted.
