The US Army is already implementing a plan to send M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine .
This was stated by the head of the supply department of the ground forces, Doug Bush, reports Defensenews .
Speaking on the webcast, Bush said the Army already has a plan.
“We are doing it,” he said. “We just can’t talk about the details.”
Late last month, U.S. Army Secretary Christine Wormuth said her organization would not be able to supply tanks to Ukraine for at least a few months, and quite possibly not until the end of this year.
“Longer terms are involved here, but I think there are options for less than two years, less than a year and a half,” she said.
Earlier, Breaking Defense reported that Ukraine could receive American tanks from stocks in US warehouses , and not as a result of their production, as previously expected.
At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that if Abrams tanks arrive in Ukraine by August, it will be “too late” .
